Spiti Valley

The name “Spiti” means “The Middle Land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti Valley is home to some of the oldest monasteries (around 1000 years old), highest motorable villages in Asia, highest post office in the world, beautiful and vast landscape, ancient and intact culture and simple people. Spiti Valley possesses a distinctive Tibetan Buddhist culture similar to that found in Tibet and Ladakh region of India.


Kinnaur (the land of Gods) surrounded by the Tibet to the east, in the northeast corner of Himachal Pradesh, about 235 kms from Shimla is a tremendously beautiful district having the three high mountains ranges i.e. Zanskar, Greater Himalayas and Dhauladhar, enclosing valleys of Sutlej, Spiti, Baspa and their tributaries. All the valleys are strikingly beautiful. The slopes are covered with thick wood, orchards, fields and picturesque hamlets. The much religious Shivlinga lies at the peak of Kinner Kailash mountain. It is not only the scenic beauty which appeals to the young and old alike but also the life styles of the people, their culture, heritage, customs and traditions.


Day 1

Shimla (altitude 2205 m)
Reach Shimla. Check in to the Hotel & enjoy the markets of Shimla as you prepare for the travel. Overnight stay in Shimla.

Day 2

Sangla Valley (travel – 250 Km, altitude-3450 m)
Start very early today to reach Sangla Valley, via Karcham and Rakcham. This will be full day travel through the beautiful Sangla valley as we reach Chitkul, the last Indian village on Indo-Tibetian border. Overnight stay at Chitkul.

Day 3

Kalpa (travel – 71 Km, altitude – 2960 m)
Visit the border post at Nagasthi early morning and have breakfast in the hotel. Leave towards Kalpa to catch the golden light on the majestic Kinner Kailash. Overnight stay in Kalpa.

Day 4

Tabo (travel – 160 Km, altitude – 3280 m)
Visit the local attractions in Kalpa early morning and return to hotel for breakfast. Leave towards Tabo visiting some of the attractions on the way like monastery in Nako and Sutlej confluence in Khab. Overnight stay in a comfortable homestay in Tabo.

Day 5

Kaza (travel – 65 Km, altitude – 3650 m)
Visit the famous monastery in Tabo. After breakfast start thetravel to Kaza, the capital of Spiti. Visit the famous Dhankar monastery on the way. Overnight stay at Kaza.

Day 6

Kaza (travel – 60 Km, maximum altitude – 4587 m)
Kaza ia a place to explore. Visit the famous monasteries of Kibber, travel to the highest motorable village in Asia and visit the highest post office in the world. Return back to Kaza for the overnight stay.

Day 7

Chandra Tal (travel – 58 km, altitude – 4300 m)
Travel from Kaza to Chandra Tal. This is one of the most beautiful location in Spiti Valley situated at the altitude of 14100 ft (4300 m). Overnight stay at camps in Chandra Tal.

Day 8

Manali (travel – 105 Km, altitude – 2050 m)
Travel from Chandra Taal to Manali via Kumzum and Rohtang pass.

Day 9

Tour ends here. Stay back to enjoy the local sightseeing and shopping in Manali. Or there are options to travel back to Delhi or Chandigrah to catch the flight back home.

Cost Includes:-

  • All stays on triple sharing basis during the days of travel.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner for all the travel days mentioned in itinerary. Food includes veg food at all locations.
  • Entry fees and Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Ladakh region.

Cost Excludes:-

  • Bike (rental, transportation, fuel, accessories). Only list of required item will be provided by us before the travel.
  • Any personal expenses on food other than mentioned above during travel days.
  • Bottled and packaged drinking water.
  • Medical expenses other than first aid, if required.
  • Any fine/charges due to violation of traffic rules.
  • Any tips paid to the hotel staff during the stay.

Cancellation Policy:-

  • 20% of total tour cost if cancelled 30 Days prior the departure.
  • 50% of total tour cost if cancelled 15 Days prior the departure.
  • No refund from 15 days prior to tour departure.


  • Anusandha Adventures will not be liable for any refund in case of any Natural Disaster during tour.
  • In case of natural disaster, Anusandha Adventures would not be liable to provide any individual any other mode of transportation.
  • Anusandha Adventures will not be liable for any expenses for extra stay or meals if occurred due to natural disaster in region.
